Hello You Tube Friends,

I had a special request for sharpening Scissors. Honestly, I've never sharpened scissors but I promised this individual I would give it a go. First, the basic design of a pair of scissors is two chisel point blades. This simply means you only need to sharpen one bevel per blade. That's basic knife sharpening. Mark the bevel with a sharpie, find the correct bevel on your coarse stone and sharpen the bevel until you create the burr. The burr can be a little tricky to remove. I've seen and read where you simply reassemble the scissors and quickly close the two blades which will remove the burr. I've also read and watched where you use a separate sharpening stone to run across the back side of the scissor blade to remove the burr. I chose to use the sharpening stone I was using and made a couple light passes to remove the burr. I checked with my finger to confirm the burr had been removed. When I was finished with the coarse stone I went to the extra, extra fine Razors Edge Systems Hone and refined the now sharpened edge. The end result were scissors that cut paper and cloth with ease. It took approximately one hour to regrind the bevel free hand

As always, your comments and suggestions are welcomed.
